Are You Getting Your House Ready For Hosting Holiday Events?

If you are known as The Host/Hostess With The Mostest that probably means that you are planning to host some holiday events right in your own home. With that in mind, maybe you are thinking that it's time to thoroughly clean your house.

Do you already have a cleaning plan in mind? If not, here are some ideas that might help you.

Arrange For Professional Floor Polishing -

If you have the time, equipment and skills to polish the floors in your house, go for it. However, most people will want to consider hiring professionals to do the job for you.

Hiring professionals means that you'll have workers who have the training and the experience to do a thorough job. In addition, they'll have state-of-the-art equipment to make your floors look like new. 

For example, if you have marble floors, the workers will use polishing pads, powder or paste to make the marble gleam like it did when it was brand new. Maybe you have hardwood floors in some of the rooms of your house. If so, the floors will first be cleaned. The next step might be adding new stain. And finally, the hardwood floors will be polished until you can almost see yourself in them. 

Maybe you have faux-painted concrete on your patio, or on other floors in your house. While the faux painting will probably be there for many years, the concrete might need to be polished. Professionals can do that without disturbing the faux painting. 

Establish A Cleaning Plan

Your cleaning plan probably depends on when your first holiday party will be. For example, if you are hosting a Halloween costume party, you probably want to get the house cleaning done within the next few days so you won't be rushed at the last minute. Obviously, if the holiday events held at your home won't start until Thanksgiving, you have more time to complete your cleaning chores.

No matter when you start, think of establishing a plan that works well for you. For instance, do you want to do the cleaning on only one or two days? If so, mark those days on your calendar so you won't plan anything else on those days. If you are giving yourself more time, say a week, divide chores so that you can do only a few on each day. For example, on Monday you could thoroughly clean your bathrooms, Tuesday could be for vacuuming and dusting, and so on. 

Think of hiring professionals to clean hard-to-reach or huge picture windows. Doing so will probably be more affordable than you thought it would be, and the windows will be streak-free.
