3 Ways To Use A Mezzanine Lift In Your Warehouse

Mezzanine lifts are electric-powered structures that act as lift platforms to transition objects between floors or mezzanine structures. If you do not yet have a mezzanine lift in place in your industrial facility, but you do have multiple decks or floors in use, it is well worth considering having one installed. This is especially true if you are frequently faced with certain lifting or transport challenges within your place of business. Take a look at some of the ways you can use a mezzanine lift in your warehouse setup and make several processes much easier to handle. 

Use a mezzanine lift to transition goods from one floor to another. 

One of the most common uses for mezzanine lifts is the basic transfer of goods from one floor to the next within a facility. For example, say you have a shipment of books coming in that will have to be stowed away on the top floor of your facility until they are picked for shipment. The most efficient way to get a load of books to the upper floors in the warehouse is with a mezzanine lift. 

Use a mezzanine lift to move equipment up to higher stories. 

If you have multiple floors in your facility where certain equipment pieces are used, having a mezzanine lift will allow you to move equipment pieces up and down to whatever floors they are needed on. This can be beneficial for a few reasons. For one, you reduce the costs that can be associated with operating things like cranes and elevators to move items from floor to floor. Secondly, you can make do with fewer equipment pieces because they can be easily transferred from one floor to the next as they are needed. 

Use a mezzanine lift to lower packaged goods to lower shipping docks. 

If you have an upper deck where employees pick and pack items to be shipped, you may have to rely on a conveyor system for transferring smaller items down to shipping and loading docks. However effective conveyor systems are for smaller packaged items, they do no good for larger or awkward items that will not safely travel on a conveyor built. By having a mezzanine lift installed on upper decks, you can lower large items down to the shipping area without having to manually pack them down flights of stairs to get them where they need to be.
